Among all the writers in Bengal, Nimai Bhattacharya is a name to remember. He was born in present Magura district of Bangladesh in 1931. He started his career as a journalist and served in Kolkata, then Delhi for almost 25 years. His writing had started through newspaper writing about political development in Kolkata. But, he dedicated his life to literary writings since 1963. His first writing 'Rajdhanir Nepothye' published in 1964. Some of his renowned writings are 'Golpo holeo sotti', 'Memsaheb', 'Pawther seshe', 'Your Honor', 'Bachelor' and many others. His notable work was ‘Memsaheb’. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 89.
